About Me

Hello, my name is Brianna Rizzo. I am currently a Freshmen at Rider University where I am majoring in Psychology. I am eighteen years old and was born on Mother's Day (my Mom's favorite present)!  I grew up in Audubon, New Jersey where I have lived my entire life. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as much as possible. I am a very responsible, friendly, and independent woman. I committed four years into playing Varsity soccer and softball in high school. By playing these two sports, I was able to show my leadership abilities by being elected captain for both teams. I was awarded "First Team All Conference" for both sports and named the "Most Coachable Player" in soccer.  I also learned a lot about team work, dedication, and sportsmanship. I was elected "Most Well-Rounded" by my Senior class. Over the past four years, I have had three different jobs. During the summer I worked at Cabana Waterice Company and Roberts Pool. At Cabana, I was able to learn all about customer service, cashier experience, and time management. I worked as a life guard at Roberts Pool where I watched after the swimmers and performed first aid on anyone who was injured. I am also CPR/AED certified by the American Red Cross.  Once Christmas time came around, I worked in the Deptford Mall, at a small kiosk called Stockings to Stuff. Here, I was in charge of cashiering and decorating ornaments and stockings. At Rider, I am currently taking mandatory classes such as Introduction to Expository Writing, Race Class and Gender, Introduction to Psychology, Finite Mathematics, and Introduction to Speech Communication. I am joining clubs and helping to create new ones as well. I am on the Girl's Club Soccer team and am working on creating a Softball Club. By being involved with my campus I am able to network with different people and meet new friends. After I graduate from Rider, I wish to go to the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey to reach my goal of becoming a Dentist. . I know that one day all of my hard work and dedication will pay off and I will be SUCCESSFUL!

  1. Brianna's presentation was very unique. I loved the way she opened up to he audience when she shared about her father. It was also great that she included her family bond and how important it was to her, it is obvious they are a huge part of her life. The best part about Brianna's speech was that she kept referring back to how she wanted to became a dental hygienest. Each time she introduced a new attribute she touched back on how this would be necessary for that profession. This speech was definitely one of her greatest speeches, if not the absolute best. She really got the audience interested, I was fully attentive the entire time. Brianna also had great hand gestures as well as movement; she used her space wisely. Not only has she improved vastly in her public speaking from July, but she has continued to improve more and more each speech he does.

Brianna's blog is very well put together. I love the pink stripes, I myself almost chose this layout. It is cool how all of her links are also pink; this brings out the background even more so. I feel the two pictures she provided really helped show her happy nature, she has a great big smile on in both. The links that she chose to add on the side were all very relevant to her goal and definitely showed her involvement thus far. My personal favorite was the letter that her coach wrote to her, it hows she is special and stood out among her other teammates. Also, it was smart that she decided to inclde her paper from Race, Class and Gender because everyone in the audience has now taken this class and can relate it, good planning on her part.

Brianna is a very organized and persistent student. For her future presentations she just needs to relax a little bit more, maybe take a few deep breaths before getting up in front of the class. It is evident that she is nervous for you can hear it in her voice and see it on her face. She just needs to break it down in her head a little more so she can see that she is prepared and has it down pat after all.
