Leadership

Throughout my four years at Audubon High School, I was committed to playing for the Varsity soccer team. I can honestly say that playing soccer was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned all about teamwork and discipline. My junior year I was elected Captain by both my teammates and my coach. It was an honor and with it, I learned all about leadership and responsibility. My teammates and I all grew to become best friends and because of this, we had very successful, winning seasons. I held the position of Captain throughout my senior year as well. I knew that by being a Captain, I had to provide a good example for my team. I made sure that I was a leader on and off the field. Whenever my teammates needed some help, I stepped in. I had team dinners at my house before big games to keep everyone motivated. By playing soccer, I really learned a lot about myself. I know that success requires time and hard work. I learned that being a leader means that you need to lead by example because you are a role model for everyone on the field. I learned a lot about responsibility and became more confident with myself.  I will take everything that I have learned through play soccer and use it to become a successful dentist. On Senior Night, my last home game, my coach wrote all of his senior players a letter talking about the player and person they have become over the years. You can read mine!
